Industrial company specializes in the design and fabrication of trim dies for the die cast and foundry industries. In order to properly supervise the manufacturing processes at their plant, our client required the installation of a new supervisor’s office at their facility in Michigan.
Based on speed of order fulfillment and the wide selection of standard office sizes available, our client reached out to PortaFab to discuss the installation.

The Evaluation
Upon visiting the facility, our dealer walked the site with the client in order to identify an area in which to install the office while ensuring its location would not affect the existing work flow of the already busy plant. After securing a location, our distributor also discussed the incorporation of a mezzanine on which to install the office, giving the plant supervisor an elevated view of the manufacturing processes.
Due to the hot environment of the manufacturing plant, our distributor made plans to incorporate a dedicated HVAC unit for the office to provide a comfortable working environment during changing seasons.
The Solution
The new office was delivered and installed on time and under budget, partially thanks to the use of PortaFab’s modular wiring package. Our snap-together wiring was installed at the same time the building was erected resulting in fast completion and a reduced number of trades – only requiring an electrician after the installation had been completed to hook up the new main line to the breaker box.
The use of our OmniFlex Fire and Sound system ensured that the office space would provide the optimal environment for meetings and discussions with the staff by limiting the noise of the surrounding facility while providing a thermal barrier from any temperature fluctuations.
