What is a Modular Office?

A modular office is a prefabricated office space made from pre-built components that are assembled on-site. It offers a flexible, cost-effective, and quick-to-install solution for creating or expanding office space within a building.

Portable Offices & Forliftable Buildings

Unlike our typical modular building systems that are easy to "disassemble and relocate," these preassembled buildings feature an all-welded aluminum construction and rugged frame that allows these buildings to be moved throughout your facility—indoors or outdoors—with a forklift.

Anatomy of a modular office

Can I install a modular office myself?

Yes, many of our standard one-story modular office configurations are DIY-friendly. If you will be installing, assembling, or relocating your modular office without the help of a PortaFab distributor, you can download PortaFab's Installation Brochure for guidance. PortaFab also has several installation videos available that preview the modular office installation process. If you do not wish to install the modular office yourself, we will connect you with one of our local representatives who can complete the install.

Can the office be moved later?

Yes. PortaFab's modular offices are designed to be reconfigured or relocated as your needs evolve. PortaFab's modular offices utilized the OmniFlex framing system, which is a freestanding 3" steel framing system. Its non-progressive construction and pre-engineered components make it easy to expand, modify, or relocate the modular office.

Can it be climate-controlled?

Yes. Small, modular offices are often outfitted with wall-mounted units for climate control. For larger modular offices, or when desired, installations can integrate with existing HVAC systems. Framed cutouts are available for those who want to install their own systems. The most common way to heat a modular office is to include a combination heater / AC unit. Baseboard heaters can also be used.
