A worldwide supplier of technology, integrated project management and solutions in the oil and gas industry. They required the construction of a new controlled environment to enclose and protect their precision measurement equipment and processes. Based on the positive past working relationship, PortaFab worked closely with our distributor for a solution to the installation of their new enclosure.
Project Overview
Application: CMM Room
Product: OmniFlex Steel with Fire & Sound Panels (Champagne)
Benefits Provided:
Steel surfaces for ease of cleanability, durability and non-shedding surfaces to reduce particulates.
- Temperature and airflow controlled environment to provide reliable testing and measurement.
- Extra-tall walls and roll-up door to ease transfer of large equipment in and out of enclosure.
The Challenge
Our distributor worked closely with PortaFab during project specification in order to meet and exceed their client’s expectations as well as to ensure the dynamic requirements for the oil and gas industry were properly communicated.
Based on the tight schedule for completion, our distributor worked closely with PortaFab’s engineering staff in order to maintain the short installation time-frame. Our distributor also spent time with their client to configure the exact heights that would be required to properly enclose the large equipment while also ensuring the new enclosure would fit within their existing facility.
The Solution
Our distributor utilized our OmniFlex Steel wall system with Fire and Sound panels to create an 18-foot tall enclosure. The steel surfaces offered ease of cleanability and durability while also providing a non-shedding surface to minimize the amount of airborne particles within the enclosure.
In addition to temperature control, our distributor also integrated controlled airflow within the CMM room to ensure sensitive measuring equipment within would not be affected. Our dealer also outfitted the modular room with an extra-tall roll-up door to allow for the safe and quick transfer of large equipment in and out of the enclosure while retaining the environmental conditions inside.
