The Situation

Ingalls Hospital Outpatient Rehab needed to create employee and patient areas within a location they were leasing. PortaFab had already provided a modular office for the warehouse-like facility and Ingalls Hospital personnel felt comfortable that PortaFab could provide exactly what they needed for the rehabilitation facility.

The Challenge

Because Ingalls leased its facility, it was very important that the new structures be portable to accommodate future moves. Management also wanted to avoid disruptions to patient services and create a soundproof area to interview patients and evaluate their progress.

The Evaluation

The need for quick installation and the flexibility to move the unit in the future were key factors in the decision to go with modular construction. Further evaluation with PortaFab's design team showed that a two-story unit with offices and a conference room placed above the patient evaluation area provided the most efficient use of the space.

The resulting 2-Story office was such a huge success that Ingalls quickly added a second building adjacent to the two-story to serve as an employee lunchroom and provide more office space.
