Due to developments and expansion of their business, our client required the installation of a new guard shack at their facility in Missouri. The facility already had an existing, non-PortaFab booth on the property. However, due to the condition of the older building and our client’s desire to implement new security features, they began searching for an alternative solution. Based on a positive past working relationship, our client reached out to PortaFab to discuss the new construction project.
Project Overview
Application: Perimeter Security
Benefits Provided:
- Custom features including overhang, security lighting and custom electrical requirements
- Fast order fulfillment and installation inside of two weeks
The Solution
The new guard booth would serve to enhance security at the construction entrance into the facility by monitoring outbound and inbound traffic. Additionally, our client desired some improvements over the old building and discussed incorporating some custom features that included additional electrical capabilities, security lighting and a roof overhang to protect employees from the elements.
The Result
A meeting was held at PortaFab’s office with the client's engineering, construction and security managers in order to conduct a needs analysis and draw up plans for the new guard building. After reviewing options and specifications with our client, the design plans and estimate were submitted and approved.
Two weeks after the order was approved, the new guard building arrived at the facility and was quickly installed for immediate use. In addition to the exterior lighting features and a custom overhang to protect occupants from the elements, the building also was installed upon a cement foundation surrounded by ballasts to provide safety from motorized traffic. Our installer also coordinated the installation of the electrical box into the framed cutouts along the side of the new building which would serve to accommodate additional security technology at the request of our client.
