Fastening with Structural Adhesives

Structural silicone adhesives as manufactured by Dow Corning or G.E. Silicone Products and other manufacturers can be used to fasten Formacore Panels to extrusions or supports.

It is necessary to have specifications and details reviewed by the adhesive manufacturer and obtain the manufacturer’s Structural Adhesion Warranty. Normally blind rivets (pop-rivets or equal) or tape are used to secure panels until silicone sealant cures.

Silicone Sealant Manufacturer’s instructions must be followed. Porta-Fab Corporation assumes NO liability for adhesive performance. Typical details are shown in Figures 4-3 and 4-4.
