Case Study: Suzuki

e room modular wall enclosure for paint equipmentClient: Suzuki

Location: Rome, GA

Application: Paint Process Enclosure

Product: OmniFlex 300 Steel-Faced Panels (16 feet tall)

Benefits Provided:

  • Insulated walls for optimal thermal control
  • Improved product yield
  • Integration with existing conveyor system

The Situation

Suzuki required the use of PortaFab's Omni 300 wall system in order to enhance its existing paint line process, and improve operations. The wall system would function as a protective barrier around the Suzuki paint process machinery, keeping other equipment and personnel safe from its powder coat applications. Suzuki had strict requirements for the wall system that would be used.

Since maintaining the correct temperature is essential to achieving a high quality coat finish with minimal defects, the enclosure needed to allow for exact temperature control within the painting area.

The surface of the wall system also needed to provide an easy to clean surface, given the painting machinery within the structure.

The Solution

Based on the stated requirements, PortaFab recommended the OmniFlex 300 steel-faced panel wall system. The steel wall panels would provide structural integrity, while their smooth surface would serve as an easy to clean solution when needed. Due to the height of the existing conveyor system, the OmniFlex system's 16 foot high walls were able to integrate with the conveyors in the facility. This allowed for the creation of an environmental enclosure (E-Room) controlling temperature, humidity and cleanliness within the facility.

Given the quality standards that Suzuki required, PortaFab was able to successfully accommodate their needs and provide a solution that would allow them to increase efficiency and productivity within their plant.
