With a history rich in the design and development of modular construction, PortaFab has created the world's most extensive line of modular building components for the cleanroom industry.

1980 - PortaFab founded.

1982 - Series 3 Modular In-plant Building System introduced.

1983 - Steel Series Modular In-plant Building System introduced.

1988 - PortaFab relocates to new world headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.

1990 - The all aluminum, load-bearing Series 300 Modular In-plant Building System is patented (Patent #4,910,938) and introduced specifically for the cleanroom market.

1993 - St. Louis area manufacturing plant undergoes complete renovation.

1994 - PortaFab receives patent #5,287,675 for its PortaMax 458 Wall Stud Assembly which was introduced to satisfy the growing need for extra tall wall applications.

1998 - Awarded Patent #Des.392,054 for the FabLine Batten System designed specifically for microelectronic cleanroom applications.

1999 - Introduces double flush window assembly under Patent #Des.412,756 for use in clean environments.

2000 - Awarded Patent #6,016,632 and introduces FabLine Framed System for microelectronic cleanroom applications.

2000 - Expands design and engineering capabilities while enhancing product line through strategic acquisition of Airoclean Engineering, an integrated design / build cleanroom company that also produced products such as the Ultraguard Fan Filter Unit.

2000 - Enters mezzanine business and expands in-plant office manufacturing capacity through acquisition of Henges Manufacturing.

2001 - Acquires Couples Products, a leading manufacturer of curtain wall systems and architectural panels.

2001 - Introduces the OmniFlex Plus Modular In-plant Building System and receives Patent #6,360,510 for its innovative hat-channel design.

2005 - Introduces the PharmaSystem (patent pending) for Pharmaceutical / Biotech Cleanroom applications.

2007 - Introduces the PharmaSystem Ceiling (patent pending), a flush, walkable, load-bearing panelized ceiling for Pharmaceutical / Biotech Cleanroom applications.
