Routing Formed Panel Edges

Milling the panels from the edge according to the panel thickness with a saw or router.

Please note: DO NOT mill the front cover sheet! Depending on the router bit or saw blade diameter and the panel thickness, a corresponding depth gauge is required to ensure the exact milling depth; please refer to the Formacore previous section on routing technique.

Complete removal of the core from the front cover sheet on the panel edge is to be done with a utility knife.

Folding of the cover sheet edges should be done with a folding/bending press with a modified tool.

Please note: It is important that a protective film be used on the aluminum sheet edge when folding/bending to protect against scratches.

Painted finish could crack if folding/bending to too severe.
